Spread the Word to End the Word

I work at the high school in a special education classroom, and I recently found out about this awesome event! Its called Spread the Word to End the word.

Basically the Special Olympics organization has put together this website http://r-word.org/ to help raise awareness of how hurtful and demeaning the word 'retarded' can be, and to get people to stop using the word. The national goal is to get 100,000 pledges on the website for people to end the use of the word. Take a look at the website to learn more about why you should stop using the word, and then pledge!

I guess Logan High was Fox 13's 'Cool School' of the week. They came and did interviews with different people and organizations at the school, and the two teachers I work for got to talk about 'Spread the Word to End the Word', so here is a clip from that.
